How to search the school, district, and state reports

To find a school:

  • Select School Reports from the menu
  • Type in a school name, or part of a school name (such as "Kennedy" or "Robert F. Kennedy School"), or
  • Select a grade level using the pull-down menu, or
  • Enter a school code (such as 28160), or
  • Go to the list of all Rhode Island schools and districts
  • See a list of available reports
  • Click on a link to view the report in PDF.

To find a district:

  • Select District Reports from the menu
  • Choose a district from the list
  • See a list of available reports
  • Click on a link to view the report in PDF.

For the State Report Card:

  • Select State Report Card from the menu for a comprehensive look at Rhode Island public schools.
  • Select from the left-hand State Charts column to locate an individual chart.

How to view the PDF files using Acrobat Reader

If you do not already have Acrobat Reader on your computer, download it from the Adobe Web site. Select "Get Acrobat Reader" and click Continue to start the download. Be sure to save the file to a location where you can easily find it afterward, such as the Desktop.

Once the download has completed, double-click on the installer icon and follow the installation instructions.

Both Firefox and Internet Explorer use a plug-in to automatically open Acrobat Reader within your browser. When you click a PDF file link, Acrobat Reader will open right in your browser's window.

How to print the reports

While viewing the report cards either in your browser window or in Acrobat Reader, go to File-Print, or simply click on the small printer icon in the upper left-hand corner.

If you have trouble printing from your browser, try saving the PDF document first to a place you'll remember, such as your desktop. Then double-click the file to open it in Acrobat Reader, and then go to File-Print.

How to copy data from the reports to another program

You can copy the data from all PDF reports into other programs, such as Excel or Word.

Open a PDF report in Acrobat Reader, and click on the Note icon located in the top section of each page. You will then see the data behind the chart. Simply select the data, copy, switch into Excel (or other program), and paste. The data should be properly formatted for you.
