Corrections to Information Works! 2007Advanced Placement ExamsThree high schools on the Advanced Placement Exams report were listed with incorrect districts. The correct schools and districts are:
Students with DisabilitiesIn the Students with Disabilities report, Pawtucket was missing from the elementary section of the "Districts with 10 or more students eligible for the Alternate Assessment" chart. Because of a production error, in the printed version of the State Report the last digit was omitted for “Total expenditures” on the report “Students with Disabilites: Placement” (p.108) for districts with expenditures greater than $10 million. See Students with Disabilities, page 4, for the complete expenditures. SuspensionsThe state suspension data in the 2007 book incorrectly shows 2006 data. Please see the 2007 Suspension report. Profile of Schools / Type of SchoolingBecause of a data error, the percentages reported in the pie chart on “Type of schooling” (Profile of Schools on the Web site; page 11 in the Information Works! 2007 book) was incorrect. The percentage of students in nonpublic schools is 14.8; the percentage of students in “other public schools” is 83.4 percent. The Web site was corrected on February 15th, 2008. Assessments – School ReportsBecause of a programming error, the 4th-grade assessment results on some school reports were incorrect. This error affected only schools with grade configurations of 3-5, 2-5, 1-5, or K-5. The error was corrected on February 15th, 2008. Accountability – School ReportsBecause of a programming error, the five high schools that also have middle-school grade levels (Block Island, North Smithfield, Rhode Island School for the Deaf, RYSE, and Times2) had incorrect high-school accountability report. (The middle-school accountability report was posted for both the high-school and middle-school grades.) The error was corrected on February 15th, 2008. Professional DevelopmentBecause of a programming error, the data in the column “Lack of training is a moderate or major problem” is incorrect in the printed version of the State Reports for 2005, 2006, and 2007. The error was corrected on the Web site in November 2007. Using Information - School ReportsOn the School Report Cards for high schools, Using Information: Characteristics of Students, the color codes were inadvertently switched for two segments of the “students receiving special education services” pie chart. “General Education with Supports” and “Homebound/Hospitalized” were transposed on the pie charts for all high schools. This was corrected in May 2008. In$ite General Education Expenditures - District Report
