School performance and improvement in this district

WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT

Page 2 of each district report includes a field that shows the performance categories and the improvement status of the schools in the district.

The information to the left of the field how many schools in the district were high performing, moderately performing, low performing, and not categorized. (Schools are not categorized either because they are relatively new schools with insufficient data or because there is no state testing at the school’s grade levels.) The pie chart shows the percentage of schools in each performance category; this calculation is based on the schools that are categorized only.

The information in the center of the field show how many schools in the district are improving, how many are not improving, and how many were not categorized. The pie chart shows the percentage improving compared with the percentage not improving.

The information to the right of the field shows how many schools in the district, and what percentage of schools (based on schools categorized) are in need of improvement. These are schools that have been low performing and not improving for two years.
