Parental Involvement:
Parent and teacher responses from the SALT Survey
|
|
 |
|
This indicator is based on parent and teacher
responses to the SALT Survey; the graphs show responses to several
of the questions that contributed to the Parental Involvement
Indicator. The graphs show both the response from the individual
school and the statewide average by school level (elementary,
middle, or high school). The graphs also show the responses on the
most recent SALT Survey (2002) and the previous survey (2000).
The Parental Involvement Indicator denotes whether families are
comfortable in school environments and are fully engaged in
supporting their child’s learning by helping with homework,
attending conferences, participating in school-improvement
activities, and communicating with teachers. It also show whether
the schools provide ongoing opportunities to communicate with
parents and whether they are creative in their approaches to help
reluctant families feel comfortable working with teachers.
