Get the
latest data: Infoworks! 2003
Now in its fourth year, Information Works! is the principal publication of Rhode Island’s school accountability initiative, though many collateral documents are available through this site. The schools each have three page reports – the first two are also in the hardcopy – of graphically represented statistical information on student achievement, financial data, student challenges, survey information from parents, teachers, students and administrators and much more. Each district has four pages showing its relevant information, and both the State Chart section and the State Analysis give different views of the information for the state as a whole. The unit of accountability in Rhode Island is the school, so these profiles never describe how any individuals are doing -- teachers, administrators or children.
Rhode Island’s school improvement and accountability strategy is to collect a great variety of information from survey data to hands-on, week-long team visits to the schools, analyze the information and give it back to the schools and public to help them improve their schools on an on-going basis. This website has collected all the comparable information – school-to-school, school-to-district, district-to-district – relevant and available this year. |
